• Report to work 40 hours a week 11 am to 8 pm with an hour lunch.
• Use Google Docs, Sheets, and Gmail to organize work communications and data.
• Use an EMR System (Currently A2C medical).
• Navigate various Clearinghouse and payor websites.
• Enter data accurately in the system to maximize timely clean claim submission and collections.
• Ensure clinicians are properly credentialed.
• Review and submit insurance claims accurately.
• Ensure smooth claim submissions, collections, and appeals.
• Review and audit insurance payments and explanation of benefits (EOB) for mistakes, patterns, and non-payment and make sure these are corrected and collected without delay.
• Answer client billing-related questions and receive direct payments.
• Ensure that proper authorizations are received for different Health Insurances, HMOs, Workers Comp., Regional Centers, and others.
• Ensure that new referrals are scheduled in a timely manner after clients receive a good faith estimate of patient responsibilities.
• Cover the front desk duties as needed.
• Verify insurance benefits and request treatment authorization as needed, making sure to get required reports from staff on time.
• Assist with scheduling.
• Answer Phones / Fax / Scan / File / Print / Mail as needed.
• Whatever is needed to ensure collections exceed expenses.
