POSITION SUMMARY:

The position ensures that product, packaging and process norms comply with quality and food safety standards for the company’s beverage base blending/packaging facility located in Bartow, FL. Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, this position performs operation and use of the forklift, working with shipping and inventory clerks. Other forklift operators will be the back-up for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Operates forklift to move freight into and out of Warehouse.

· Loads and unloads freight.

· Assists with other shipping personnel.

· Assists Quality Assurance to obtain samples.

· Verifies the accuracy and availability of all documents on incoming shipments.

· Ensures that correct security procedures are observed regarding incoming & outgoing of product.

· Properly prepares necessary documentation for all shipments.

· Assists with inventory control, adheres to procedures.

· Adheres to regulatory & Peace Rive Citrus Products procedures.

· Interacts with representatives of common carriers and railroads.

· Assists with ingredient sampling.

· Must be able to drive a forklift safely.

· Meets all “Good Manufacturing Practices”.

· Practices safety requirements established by OSHA and Peace River Citrus Products.

· Be available to work extended shifts and days.

· Any additional duties assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic knowledge of computer functions on a keyboard

• Proven experience as forklift operator

• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment

• Excellent physical condition and coordination

• Valid certification to operate forklifts

• High school diploma or GED.

• Utilizes advance skills of reading, writing, speaking, analytical capacity and high level of professional judgment to resolve problems affecting work area.

• Applies communication skills to perform work and coordinate with others.

• Works with computers and other electronic communication devices; including programs to prepare documents or reports, as necessary.

• Ability to take prompt and appropriate response to operating conditions.

• Work with other department leadership & employees, including senior level management.

• Be flexible regarding duties, as directed by leadership.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
