Forklift Mechanic – Fleet Maintenance
Job description
General duties include responsible for the repair on all warehouse moving equipment.
FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:
- Repair, service and maintain all material handling equipment including electric and gas forklifts, transporters, tuggers and electric and manual pallet jacks
- Decision making and problem solving required
- Ability to troubleshoot and make repairs with minimal assistance
- Must possess the ability to complete given assignments within allotted time periods in a safe and diligent manner with minimal supervision
- Must furnish basic tools
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of individuals doing business from within and outside the Company
- Physical ability to do moderate to heavy lifting, reaching, twisting, stooping, bending and other movements on a repetitive basis
- Must be able to work night shifts and weekends
- Perform repairs in other shop departments as needed
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Minimum four (4) years work experience and/or classroom related training
- Must pass a physical and pre-employment drug test
REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must have a valid California Driver License with clear record
Hourly Pay Range: $17.31 – $ 31.48 This position is covered under the Teamsters Warehouse Agreement
