2nd or 3rd Shift: Start $21.50 - 6 mth. $22.00 - 1 year $22.50

NTN, a world leader in constant velocity technology for the automotive industry, is currently seeking a qualified Material Handler for our Anderson, Indiana operation. NTN Anderson manufactures Constant Velocity Joints (CVJs) for many of the major OEM automotive companies.

Position Summary:

Safely and efficiently operates a variety of material handling equipment and properly completes transactions to ensure inventory control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift, tugger, overhead crane, turret truck and other equipment as necessary.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; records location of inventory.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials from specified locations.
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering materials and supplies.
• Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
• Prepares finished stock for shipment by labeling and completing shipping documents.
• Uses scanning equipment for transferring material, labeling, shipping and receiving.
• Participates in cycle counts and physical inventory activities.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized.
• Follows all company rules and policies.
• Follows all safety rules. Reports safety hazards and incidents immediately.
• Guides, assists or trains other associates in their assigned duties when needed.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Ability to process paperwork correctly and accurately maintain computer records.
• Strict attention to inventory control.
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal work instructions and safety rules.
• Ability to participate effectively in small group discussion for continuous improvement activities, contribute to on-going 5-S efficiencies, and communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers on work assignments, problems/issues and training on new processes.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision after training is complete.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties while working under strict timelines to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well cross-functionally and communicate with internal parties.
• Customer service and team oriented.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Strict attention to safety.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing or in a multi-cultural environment a plus.
