This position is open for bid and all qualified job seekers simultaneously. The vacancy will be filled with eligible bidders of this agency who are in the Food Service Worker classification first. Other qualified applicants will be considered after the list of qualified bidders has been exhausted.

Job Summary
Perform routine tasks involved in food preparation, food service, dishwashing, and cleaning the food service area. Work involves following instructions and established procedures. Prepare small quantities of food for special diets. Dish up food, place dishes on carts, move carts and serve food. Serve portions in a cafeteria line. Provide safe, nutritious, and high-quality food for all students, participating staff, and special visitors at the Perpich Arts High School. Maintain a sanitary and food safe environment by following the State Department of Health requirements for food service operations. Move food between storerooms, kitchen, and serving areas. Properly clean and sanitize dishes and utensils using a dishwashing machine. Sweep, scrub, and mop floors. Follow the National School Lunch program requirement. Demonstrate positive customer service skills. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
- Materials and methods used in preparing food
- The care and use of cooking utensils and equipment.
- Food values and nutrition.
Ability to:
- Do simple cooking on a large scale and to plan and prepare small meals on a household scale.
- Perform simple cleaning and food service tasks.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in food service.
- Knowledge or training in policies and procedures related to food service operations.
- Knowledge of working food service equipment such as ovens, slicers, and fryers.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Serve Save Food Handler Certification.
- Demonstrated intercultural competencies.
Physical Requirements
With the assistance of other staff members, may periodically be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

This position requires successful completion of the following:
Clearance of Bureau of Criminal Apprehension background check
