Under the supervision of the Retail Food and Beverage Manager, working within our Restaurant Operations Department, Old Sturbridge Village is looking for a temporary part time employee that will provide an excellent dining experience to Village patrons in the Bullard Tavern and other locations as needed. This role will contribute to Old Sturbridge Village’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, depicts a rural New England town of the 1830s. Step inside more than 40 original buildings, and explore homes, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, bank, working farm, three water-powered mills, and trade shops – all situated on more than 200 scenic acres. Talk with authentically costumed historians and see heritage breed farm animals. Discover the endless ways to immerse yourself in the Village. This is a non-costumed and must be available to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Some nights and holidays are required. This position is temporary and will run from the beginning of October to the end of December 2022.

Essential Duties:

  • Present menu selections, answer questions and make suggestions regarding food and beverage choices
  • Basic cash handling skills
  • Operate a cash register, make change, in accordance with company policies and issue receipts accurately
  • Promotes diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
  • Light food prep, understanding of sanitation, and knowledge of presentation of food

Qualifications:

  • Be able to lift over 25lbs.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
  • Must be able to stand long periods of time
  • Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
