JOB DESCRIPTION:
GenCare Lifestyle, a quality brand, requires a highly effective and productive individual to represent our products and services, serving the adult population 55+ years of age, focused on creating energy and promoting the Whole Life Living Program for residents that live in GenCare Lifestyle communities.
Paid sick (1 hour for every 40 worked, able to roll over max of 56 hours), if working over 19 hours per week 401K eligible after 6 months with up to a 4% employer match after one year of employment, First Choice Health Employee Assistance Program, quarterly raises for hourly employees, free CEU’s, LPN and CNA annual license reimbursement, Free meal at work, gas stipend.
Position Summary:
The float cook/culinary team member maintains consistent flexibility and availability to fill in across our GenCare communities when there are staffing shortages.
This is a Part Time position, approximately 25-30 hours a week.

The float cook is available to fill in for back and front of house needs.
The float cook MUST have reliable transportation.
The float cook MUST be willing and able to work in any of our six communities.
The float cook must be responsive to request via text and email.
A calendar forecast will be provided quarterly for long term coverage needs.
Work as a “Whole Life Living Champion” internally and externally, assisting with motivating residents to embrace healthy eating and GenCare Lifestyle culinary menus.
Collaborates with the Corporate Culinary Director, the community Culinary Director and team members to ensure dining and food preparations follow GenCare Lifestyle standards; ensures communications are effective, clear, organized, timely, and complete. The primary goal of the lead cook is to motivate the culinary team to produce a high-quality dining experience for all residents, their families and the community.
Under the general supervision of the Culinary Director, the float team member performs the following duties and responsibilities:
Experience:
- Industry related work with vulnerable adults is helpful.
- A minimum of 3 years professional cooking required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provides support across all communities to cover staffing shortages in the culinary departments either scheduled or unexpected.
· Is available to cover shifts when staff calls out
· Demonstrate aptitude in all dietary staffing positions and is available to fill shifts as needed or required.
· Is proficient in preparing and executing all meals for all services.
· Is proficient in FOH service.
