GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Flight attendants' primary responsibility is to make all Part 135 FAR’s (Federal Aviation Regulations) on aircrafts is followed. They also do what they can to make sure passengers are comfortable during their flights. Flexibility is a MUST for this position as well as living within 90 minutes of the Cartersville, GA airport. This is an ON-CALL POSITION. There are no guarantees of scheduled days or hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends pre-flight briefings that may include weather, altitude, routes, length of flight, emergency procedure, crew coordination and verification of manifest/passenger accuracy.
- Recite safety briefing verbatim with all the FAR Part 135 Safety requirements.
- Open/close aircraft door with Pilot in Command’s permission and in accordance to procedure.
- Lock and secure baggage in front cargo areas.
- Ensure Part 135 FAR compliance with passenger seat belts, luggage storage, electronics, seat backs, all placards, illuminated signs.
- Upon arrival unlock cargo netting.
- Once clear stand at door and remind the passengers not to hit their heads upon exiting and removal of head covers.
- Once aircraft is clear cross the seatbelts, flip magazines and safety briefing cards to the position facing passenger, sweep, remove all trash, wipe all seat backs, and arm rests.
- Turn manifest into terminal.
- Responsible for monitoring cleanliness of aircraft daily.
- Mandatory to attend/perform pool survival life raft activities during CAPS training.
SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
- Flight attendants must be at least 21 of age.
- Must have experience working with the public.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check.
- A Security Clearance must be obtained for this position.
- Must be able to attend training and pass the required Part 135 training program, written and verbal tests, competency emergency drills and check ride.
- Must be organized and able to plan the menu, shop for the items, and create gourmet meals to include a high-end presentation with minimal cooking equipment and space.
- Five plus years of experience in either fine dining restaurant or for a Part 91 or Part 135 Flight Department industry.
- Prefer prior flight attendant experience working in Germany and throughout Africa.
- A valid US passport is a requirement.
- Must be able to deploy for 14 to 30 days or longer at one time.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to hire date due to international/overseas deployments.
- Must be able to acquire a series of immunizations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Lift and/or move up to 50 and 100 pounds, the weight of the life raft.
- Lift windows to exit for emergency evacuation up to 35-50 pounds; pull inward with both arms, turn and toss outside if needed.
- Stand, walk and/or run for long periods of time.
- Repeat the same movements.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Climb stairs, bend at the waist, twist, stoop, or crawl.
- Keep or regain balance.
- Hear and understand verbal instructions.
- Must be able to wear a face covering on the aircraft at time for more than 8 hours in flight.
