The Fiscal Manager will direct and oversee the financial activities of the organization, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, create forecasts predicting future growth and provide financial analysis that informs the strategic goals of the organization. The Fiscal Manager is a strategic partner in working with the organization’s executive team and under the direction of the CEO.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure completion of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including monthly operating reports, certifications, disclosures, and forecasts.
  • Balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and in compliance with company policies with variances identified and corrected.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger, codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Confirm accounting and business office policies and internal controls are in place.
  • Prepares annual operating budget and participates in the annual strategic planning process, including ongoing analysis of variances from budget and implementing changes needed to achieve budget goals.
  • Has thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement methodologies to confirm accuracy of payments.
  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance to include: timely collection of accounts receivable, limiting uncompensated care and achieving goals for cash collections and AR days to reduce bad debt and denials.
  • Actively involved in oversite of Revenue Cycle Specialists and the front end revenue cycle processes to include: insurance verifications, authorizations & claim submission.
  • Monitors purchases to ensure supply costs are kept to budgeted levels.
  • Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or business-related field with major in Accounting required; Master’s degree or CPA a plus.

  • At least 3 years of successful management experience in a healthcare setting desired
  • Previous Behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
  • Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system a plus
  • Excellent financial analysis skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
