Role
The Financial Planner will work as part of the Trust & Investment Services team to build, present, and implement financial plans consistent with the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) standard to our customers, existing clients, and prospective clients.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Create financial plans for our Trust & Investment Services clients and prospective clients working closely with Senior Trust Officers, the Portfolio Manager, Trust Associates, Financial Advisors, Commercial Banking Development Director, and Senior Wealth Management Advisor.
- Create financial plans for our Capitol Agency® clients and prospective clients working closely with our Agents, Office Manager, and Insurance Agency Manager.
- Identify gaps and opportunities to enhance the client experience through other products and services offered by Capitol Federal Savings Bank.
- Support departmental projects on as-needed basis and take initiative to identify and propose new processes and efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field.
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation preferred.
- Candidate expected to take and pass the CFP exam within 12-months.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter. Productive. Works well with a team but can be focused when working independently.
- Project management skills. Possesses the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks at once.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint. Familiar with eMoney financial planning software.
- Knowledge of trust, investments, and insurance preferred.
- Must be able to communicate complex financial analysis and solutions.
- Courtesy, tact, confidentiality, and attention to detail are essential elements of the role. The position involves personal contact with clients, prospective clients, and other inside and outside the organization; generally, for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring.
