Position Overview
- Support operational and strategic decisions through the collection, analysis, and communication of information to key decision makers
- Work with the Business Intelligence team and other key stakeholders to expand our enterprise-wide approach to data management and distribution
- Leverage broad experience and technical knowledge to propose solutions to complex business problems
- Drive efficiencies including process automation which lead to tangible ROIs on projects completed
Experience Required
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 years of experience in data management, business analysis, or similar field
- Experience with data visualization tools (Google DataStudio, Tableau, Power BI)
- Proficient in database languages
Preferred:
- 5 years of experience in data management, business analysis, or similar field
- Experience working with and managing large data sets
- Experience with ETL
- Experience working in one or more of the following: SQL, Google Data Studio, BigQuery, Javascript, Python
Key Responsibilities
Review, Analyze and Evaluate Business Systems and User Needs
Work with stakeholders to identify information needs and develop reports and/or dashboards
Enhance data warehouse through the exploration and integration of external and internal sources
Identify gaps in data availability, and implement solutions to close the gaps
Identify technology solutions that support business strategies and organizational goals
Collaborate with IT support to resolve user issues and meet user needs
Set Standards
Work with management, department heads and operations teams to develop internal quality standards, metrics and reports that align with overall company objectives, business needs and client satisfaction
Document key decisions, processes, and issues related to business systems and reporting
Identify methodologies to enhance data retention practices
Create Dashboards and Improve Data Collection, Reporting and Usage
Design, implement and maintain automated and integrated methodologies for efficient analysis and reporting
Improve reporting processes whenever possible
Works with leadership and other stakeholders to produce and validate workflow reporting (either ad-hoc or visualizations) for the organization
Assist in data preparation for regulatory reporting, as needed
Review reports for accuracy and needed changes due to organization changes, system changes, etc.
Serve as a resource to report users and stakeholders in answering questions and resolving issues related to workflow
Recommend and implement changes which can create efficiencies and streamline processes
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong ability to analyze user requirements and create front-end BI solutions
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and relationship building skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Knowledge of and ability to understand and resolve data inconsistencies or variances
- Understand how to use visualizations to communicate trends and big ideas concisely and effectively
- Excellent writing skills for documenting user requirements
- Ability to communicate complex information in a meaningful way to managers, staff, and service providers, and follow up to ensure user acceptance of solutions and understanding of information
- Ability to interact with managers to raise issues, discuss changes and provide information
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a collaborative environment
- Ability to prioritize and quickly resolve issues
