• Maintain automated life support systems and water treatment facilities throughout the park.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensures excellent customer service by responding to customer requirements, expectations, and needs.
• Troubleshoots and assists in valve and liquid metering pump repairs.
• Maintains the day to day water quality for the health of the animals, mammals, fish, and humans.
• Ensures the continuous operations of all saltwater, freshwater, and water treatment systems.
• Maintains and operates all life support systems within all environmental applicable regulations and permit conditions.
• Troubleshoots system problems and/or malfunctions with assistance from leadership team.
• Maintains records of activities log on a daily basis.
• Performs tests and analysis on water on a regular basis.
• Ensures general cleanliness of all facilities throughout the park.
• Maintains and ensures that all chemical drums and chemical storage areas are clean at all times.
• Utilizes safe handling, usage, storage, and disposal practices for chemicals, toxic substances and hazardous waste in accordance with SeaWorld and department operating procedures.
• Maintains proper tool inventory.
• Assists in general maintenance of the operation of the park.
• Assists in the draining, filling, and isolation of all pools and exhibits.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Occasionally assist other locations and areas in the park as needed.

Qualifications:

• Aquatic Facility Operator certification preferred, or certification must be obtained within first 18 months of employment.
• Must have and maintain a valid California driver's license; out of state residents, active military, their dependents and visiting students, must have a valid driver’s license from their state of residency and provide a copy of the DMV report.
• Must be able to obtain a SeaWorld driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Education:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibility for Others:

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Regular use of hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
• Stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
• Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors and cold/heat temperature extremes
• Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
• Must be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities

Availability:

• Available to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours, i.e. be able to work opening and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and Holidays.

Training:

• Park wide trainings including Implicit Bias and as needed.

Work Conditions:

• Work indoors and in outside weather conditions (i.e., direct sunlight, wet and/or humid)
• Able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to work in an environment with moderate noise levels.
• Must be able to manage time wisely and set priorities effectively.
• Able to positively interact with guests and co-workers of all ages, different ethic/cultural backgrounds and/or language, and individuals with special needs.

Compensation: $26 per hour
