The Role
This role reports to the Columbus Operations Manager. This is a hands-on role, and you will be supporting the technical needs of blast and paint/ surface prep projects. Points of responsibility include:
- Repair BlastOne rental and customer equipment while in the field.
- Conduct blast and paint retro fits in the field to existing customer equipment.
- Perform onsite and phone troubleshooting in response to customer’s field service needs. Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on site.
- Must take personal ownership for customer satisfaction.
- Support set up, performance and outcomes for site trials of equipment and technologies. This involves planning, ensuring everything you need will be on site when you are, including tools.
- Set customer expectations on what you will be doing and what we expect to see.
- Maintain on site daily Field Service Project Log to allow collect data for continuous improvement.
- While primarily a field role, the individual will support the Columbus technical needs while not in the field.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers both during the project planning and on-site phases of the project.
- Manage changing customer and project scope requirements
- Training clients on the efficient, safe and productive use of equipment used on an industrial coatings project.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of related experience
- Experience in technical service, advanced repair in technical products used in surface preparation and coating.
- Must have a solid understanding and appreciation for site safety policies and procedures.
- Must have strong leadership abilities and “thick skin” to manage customer perspectives on site, from blasters, to foremen, to owners. Must be able to effectively resolve conflicts.
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent organizational & critical thinking skills
- Must have a high sense of urgency and ability to “get it done” on site. Customer uptime is critical.
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to effectively communicate at all levels
- Must be able to demonstrate a solid grasp of basic computer systems: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
- Must be able to demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Must be able to demonstrate excellent task and time management skills
- Flexibility to travel extensively and with short notice, including being on customer sites on weekends as required.
- Preferred experience in a broad range of industries, including Oil and Gas, Large Shipyards, Water Storage, and Steel Fabrication.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
