POSITION SUMMARY

What you’ll be doing: We are hiring a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to treat our patients in a wide array of family medicine needs. A typical day will include:

  • Develop personal relationships with patients.
  • Manage chronic medical problems.
  • Create patient-specific care plans with appropriate screenings to fit individual needs.
  • Educate patients in health management and disease prevention.
  • Recommend specialists for treatment outside of their capacity.
  • Offer comprehensive wellness exams for children and adults including Well Woman exams and Medicare Annual Wellness Exams.
  • Vaccination management.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures including laceration repair, I&D, nail removal, paronychia incision and drainage, skin biopsy, etc.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as EKGs and PFTs.
  • Provide a preliminary read on x-rays and splinting injuries.
  • Work with and improve quality metrics.
  • Take an active role in working with our marketing department to grow a patient panel.
  • Be a team player and work with other staff member to provide high-quality care.

What you’ll bring to the table: Board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Previous experience in a family practice or similar setting. *NC Physician Assistants licensed prior to June 1, 1994 are not required to submit proof of Board certification due to the grandfather clause identified under 21 NCAC 32S.0202 (a)(4).*

A few requirements:

  • Licensed to practice medicine in accordance with the state law. Graduate of an approved nurse practitioner or physician assistant school with a minimum of two years of experience. BLS Certified.
  • For North Carolina only: Must obtain from North Carolina Medical Board the "Intent to Practice" within 90 days.
