Dunwoody College of Technology currently has the need for an Instructor in Web Programming and Database Development. This position is responsible for initiating the teaching and learning process. Focus on continuous improvement in an environment in which students can accomplish the learning objectives of the course of instruction. The expected results are students able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, ethics, and use of proper tools to meet industry and professional business standards.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Facilitates learning activities so that students learn the principles, theory, skills, and work ethic necessary to become proficient for entry level positions
- Creates a positive learning environment
- Monitors, assesses, and advises learner on technical and academic progress and performance
- Uses current academic and industry practices in assigned courses of instruction
- Develops and upgrades lesson material, training aids and maintains equipment within assigned course of instruction
- Delivers developed material for classes related to at least two of the following: Relational Databases, NoSQL Databases, Jupiter notebooks, Python, YAMAL, JSON, C#, cPanel, Apache, IIS, JavaScript, Secure programing, Cybersecurity, Big data.
- Assists in the recruitment and placement of learners
- Recommends equipment purchases for labs/classrooms
- As a part of a team, designs and develops new curriculum within assigned program.
- Provides support, coaching, and guidance to students
- Participates in industry and/or professional organizations to maintain and enhance program health and academic integrity
- Other duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in computer technology-related field; OR
- An associate’s degree in a computer technology-related field and professional certification in the content area in which they are teaching and industry experience
- Strong full stack development skills
- Professional experience programing in at least two languages.
- Professional experience in at least one of the following: Networking, Virtualization, Linux, Cloud or Cybersecurity
