Job description
The City of Nacogdoches is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician for our Building Maintenance department. This position performs semi-skilled electrical, plumbing, carpentry, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, custodial duties and manual labor work related to the care, cleaning, repair and maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities.
Knowledge of standard methods, materials and equipment used in plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work, related building trades, and custodial work; and training or experience of the National Electric Code, proper use of electrical and electronic test equipment, safety concerns when working at heights, in confined spaces and other work areas.
Ability to use the required tools and equipment skillfully and safely; plan, estimate costs, install and maintain equipment in the most workmanlike and cost-effective manner; follow label directions on cleaning and other products in order to use properly and safely; and reside within an acceptable driving distance to city facilities.
High school diploma/GED; prior experience in custodial or maintenance areas is preferred but not required; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Must possess a valid drivers license.
