Location: Remote based (SC market)
Job Overview: The Facilities & Maintenance Manager will manage the maintenance of multiple c-store and quick service restaurant (QSR) locations and is responsible for leading and motivating the maintenance technician team. The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for providing the team with the tools, training, and follow-up necessary to achieve thorough, safe, and efficient maintenance request fulfillment. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Loss Prevention, Risk Management, & Facilities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Human Resources
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and selection of maintenance technicians.
- Implements coaching and training to improve the performance of the maintenance team.
- Recognizes hard work and positive contributions.
- Conducts annual performance reviews with maintenance technician team.
- Ensures the scheduling of maintenance technicians, as well as identifying and/or approving coverage when a team member takes paid time off.
- Reviews and approves technicians’ timesheets weekly.
Maintenance Operations
- Assigns maintenance technicians to local territories.
- Monitors work order requests and dispatches teams accordingly.
- Prioritizes work orders based on level of urgency.
- Checks in with maintenance technician team daily to receive status updates on outstanding work orders.
- Works with third-party vendors to complete work.
- Conducts site visits and follows up to work orders after completion.
- Coordinates with operations team to address any urgent repair and maintenance needs that need to be resolved.
- Steps into the field to assists technicians with maintenance requests as needed.
- Oversees installation of new equipment as needed.
- Coaches and develops team members to learn the skills needed (refrigeration, cooking equipment, lighting, plumbing).
- Oversees maintenance aspects pertaining to new-builds and construction.
Equipment Management
- Ensures all vehicles, tools, and equipment are in safe operating condition for the use of the maintenance technician team.
- Establishes preventative maintenance schedule and holds technicians accountable for preforming preventative maintenance per the schedule.
- Takes corrective action to prevent and resolve equipment losses caused by theft or neglect.
- Manages inventory of parts and responsible for ordering in accordance with company delegation of authority and limits of approval policies.
Safety/Security and Compliance
- Maintains safety of all c-store and QSR locations by performing regular equipment inspections.
- Ensures all stores comply with all security, safety, and loss prevention procedures.
- Strictly enforces all NACS robbery prevention and security protocols as defined by the company.
- Serves as member of the Rapid Response Team to arrive on site during an incident involving injury.
Financial
- Responsible for monitoring and managing repairs & maintenance spend (e.g., equipment, parts, labor, third party spend, etc.) and performing regular reviews with the Sr. Director of LP, Risk, & Facilities.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of maintenance experience in the c-store/restaurant industry or relevant fields (refrigeration, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience managing teams preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in an independent manner, able to multi-task, to be flexible with change, and prioritize to the needs of the business.
- Strong oral and written communication skill & the ability to work with others at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrates problem-solving, prioritization, leadership, and time management skills
- Typical schedule is Monday – Friday but must have a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business and be on call for emergencies (schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays).
- Clean driving record.
- Working in an environment that requires walking, standing, lifting up to 50lbs, & other tasks that are common in an office or convenience store environment.
