Specific duties include but are not limited to:
Our Quincy, IL location has an immediate opening for a Production Manager to oversee sheet metal fabrication and machining operations. The ideal candidate should be a hands-on leader with experience in managing staff, production flow, CNC equipment, and machine programming.
Manage all shop operations to meet delivery, quality, cost, and safety objectives.- Monitor labor requirements and develop a production plan to meet customer demand, including staffing levels, overtime requirements, and outsourcing needs.
- Ensure the availability of raw materials to meet production requirements.
- Ensure all CNC machines are programmed and ready to meet production requirements.
- Lead problem resolution and troubleshoot raw material, machinery, tooling, and shop processes.
- Ensure machinery, equipment, and facilities are clean and properly maintained for employee safety and performance.
- Implement and oversee safety training and policies for a continuous safe working environment.
- Lead cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Create and manage budgets and justify capital expenditures while overseeing implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal and machine shop standards/practices, including punch press, press brakes, welding, conversion coating, painting, milling, and turning.
- Demonstrated ability to lead staff and meet production demands.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CNC programming.
- Excellent decision-making and analytical skills with a data-driven approach.
- Demonstrated results in lean manufacturing and process improvement.
