**LEAD EXPERIENCE A MUST**

Halpin's client, located in Kenosha, WI is looking for a self-starter, motivated, and experienced leader that will roll up their sleeves when necessary. Someone comfortable speaking to their team, training and developing them. They must have operator experience in set up, programming and operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following with other duties assigned as necessary

  • Responsible for on-time completion of manufacturing schedule.
  • Assign work to all department employees and plan workflow according to production capabilities and schedule.
  • Ensures that production team is aware of day to day production output expectations.
  • Manage work order closures and inventory control transactions.
  • Manage workload and make staffing or hours proposals to management.
  • Interface with the planning department to determine schedules for shift production and material and labor constraints.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators at towers and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from the strategic quarterly and annual plan so that each employee is aware of expectations and deliverables.
  • Identify and report non-conforming material to quality department on a daily basis, using proper company forms such as but not limited to MRR’s scrap log forms, and ECR’s.
  • Monitors and enters scrap material accumulation into the ERP system.
  • Keeps team members informed about company rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
  • Upholds work rules, assists and counsels employees, and initiates disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Work with engineering or submit ECR change to resolve any drawing and design issues.

  • Monitors all work-in-progress and spot-checks completed jobs to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Advises Planning and Management on Fabrication area issues or delays.
  • Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
  • Make recommendations on production methods, efficiency improvements and quality improvements.
  • Troubleshoots all Fabrication area equipment and machinery problems; directs repairs; assists in identifying additional equipment needs.
  • Ensures that the tools in the department are properly calibrated.
  • Ensures full adherence to 6S practices at all times.
  • Trains (or oversees training of) all employees to maintain staff proficiency in all area tasks.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of PC programs, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ten or more years of fabrication experience, minimum of 5 years as a lead/supervisor in a high mix low volume manufacturing environment.
