About this opportunity
We are looking for an energetic, mechanically inclined, and detail-oriented individual to fill our Extrusion Operator role. The Extrusion Operator performs machine set-up for orders, safely operates machine to production target, waste, and quality standards, and trouble shoots machine when it is down or not performing to standards.This position reports to the Department Manager.
What you will do
- Sets-up machine to specifications outlined on the order, to standard time and procedure, and operates within standard production targets and waste limits
- Trouble shoots machine when down or not performing to standard
- Assists maintenance with machine repairs and preventive maintenance
- Responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operation of the machine is consistent with the policies and procedures which make up the Quality System
- Continuously improve the process as an individual and as a team member
- Ensures work area is kept clean according to facility and corporate standards
- Ensures all environmental standards and requirements are met
- Supports and maintains all activities related to Food Safety System (SQF), such as machine center cleaning schedules, checklists, and audits
- Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards
