The Executive Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics works directly with senior leadership to define enterprise information strategy and governance to optimize the business intelligence and analytics value delivered to customers. The Executive Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics enables business insights to support the growth and operational effectiveness of a best-in-class, leading edge organization that enables data-driven decision making. As part of the leadership team, the Executive Director of Enterprise Data & Analytics works with university and organization leaders to build data governance standards and practices across the enterprise. The Executive Director of Enterprise and Analytics will also work closely with the Senior Data Architect to define and outline the enterprise data strategy and architecture. The Executive Director of Enterprise Data and Analytics is expected to model and cultivate the organization's culture, values, and behaviors.

The Enterprise Data & Analytics Department oversees campus-wide enterprise data and analytics including data governance, architecture, integration, storage, services, and analytics. This team sets the tone for UCLA's data culture, further ingraining data usage into the university's ways of working and making it possible for the enterprise to do so by managing the technology, processes, and support needed.

Required/Preferred

Bachelor's degree in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, data science, public administration, business administration, or related field.

Required

12+ years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, data, analytics/reporting, higher education, application and services, IT service management, or related field.

Required

8+ years experience leading teams in a management or leadership role, particularly in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Required

Ability to make data driven decisions to anticipate customer needs and future and emerging trends and is able to articulate a vision and strategy that motivates others to action.

Required

Extensive experience with leading business intelligence technologies and platforms.

Required

Knowledge of predictive and advanced analytics technologies.

Required

Extensive experience with leading enterprise data warehouse technologies and reporting technologies.

Required

Experience with cloud data and data management solutions from providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Informatica Cloud Services.

Required

Experience leading an enterprise-wide cloud first strategy including the development of a Data Lake and overseeing cloud migration.

Required

Proven ability to develop organization-wide data governance best practices and procedures.

Required

Proven success leading a team with demonstrated leadership values and coaching skills.

Required

Advanced degree in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, data science, public administration, business administration, or related field.
