The successful Equipment Engineer candidate will gain broad-based industrial maintenance experience, encompassing Electrical/PLC, Robotics, Mechanical, Machining, Welding, Hydraulics/Pneumatics, Conveyor systems, and improving. Must be willing to tackle whatever technical challenge presents itself and be willing to assist and learn from others in their areas of expertise. Engineering opportunities are currently open within the following teams: Casting, Battery, Body, Drive Unit, General Assembly, Paint, Production Control, and Stamping.
What You’ll Do• Diagnose equipment failures, finds root causes, and communicate actions taken and become an expert level trainer on all machines in assigned areas and be responsible for up leveling shift technicians. • Create, implement and improve project management documents and schedules. Day to day coverage of production line equipment: quickly respond to alarms, breakdowns, and production requests to minimize downtime. • Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, participate in spare part analysis and inventory development, cost reduction and improvement. • Lead equipment upgrades with a focus on serviceability, reliability and process capability Investigate and implement countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns.
