Description of responsibilities:

· Conducts inspections of various businesses for compliance with the food code and other applicable environmental regulations, i.e., restaurants, lounges, motels, hotels, grocery stores, bottling plants, wholesale warehouses, schools, health care institutions, mobile home and RV parks.

· Approves plans and issues permits for facilities that are required to be licensed.

· Approves plans, issues permit and accomplishes inspections for individual onsite wastewater systems.

· Investigates public health nuisance complaints and achieves compliance through enforcement of state laws, ordinances, or regulations.

· Collects samples as appropriate for laboratory tests and interprets the results.

· Conducts vector control activities as assigned, i.e., mosquito trapping; prepares reports, maintains records, issues citations and/or enforcement letters and notices.

· Performs computerized data entry of environmental health records.

· Promotes environmental health through education and enforcement.

· Performs other duties as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,419.00 - $50,356.00 per year
