Job Summary: The engineering Manager, or Engineer Manager, is responsible for overseeing the team of Engineers in the completion of engineering projects. Your duties include hiring, training, and managing qualified engineering staff, setting project budgets and timelines for completion, and helping their staff run tests or troubleshoot issues with prototypes. Uses industry knowledge to oversee a variety of Manufacturing activities, coordinating, and directing building activities on construction sites or activities related to maintenance, testing, quality assurance, operations, and production.
Engineer Manager Responsibilities / Role:

Develop detailed plans for new designs and products. -
Make determinations for equipment, staff, and training needs.

Propose project and program budgets, work with the team to develop

Hire and coach, mentor, and supervise staff
-
Researches, studies, and proposes the use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products.

Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.

Evaluate designs for performance, cost, safety, and reliability.
-
Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
-
Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.

Lead supervise and mentor individuals and teams in projects. Utilize Lean/Six Sigma principles and methodologies in making process improvements.

Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot, and production support.

Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.

Provide direction to designers and drafters regarding engineering analysis.

Establishes priorities for work delegated to others.

Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

Check team’s work for technical accuracy

Ensure validity of methods by staff

Perform all other job-related duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:

Education and/or Experience, Preferred:

B.S. in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Aerospace Engineering

10+ years of experience.

Experience in heavy equipment: Military, Construction, or Agricultural Equipment

Certified in Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Project Management methodologies
-
Experience with a Solid Works CAD/PDM
-
Understanding of GD&T

Excellent organizational and communication skills

Manufacturing knowledge in the assembly, fabrication, machining, or welding

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and/or Experience, Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field -
10+ years of related experience
