Job Description:
- Perform Structural Analysis of Naval Surface Combatant hull structure, equipment foundations and outfitting, utilizing Finite Element Analysis methods as well as traditional hand calculation techniques involving the application of Naval shipbuilding standards and requirements.
- Perform stress analysis of equipment/foundations using DDAM (Dynamic Design Analysis Method) in accordance with NAVSEA 0908-LP-000-3010 ranging from simple hand calculation to complex Finite Element Analysis.
- Perform analysis for predictions of structural vibration and structural acoustics.
- Support shock and vibration qualification of ship equipment and foundations using analysis methods.
- Guide shock and vibration testing procedures using analysis methods.
- Support Engineering customers including; BIW Production, Procurement, Design and the US Navy.
- BS (Required) or MS Degree (Preferred) in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with structural focus.
- 2+ years' experience
- Finite Element analysis exposure required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication, and presentation skills required.
- Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance required.
