What You'll Do

We design and develop the tools that are used to change the world every day here in our Engineering headquarters in Towson, Maryland. Our design teams are involved with every step of the process of bringing these world-class products to life. From conducting end-user research to identify new needs, designing and prototyping tools to ensure we meet our customer's high expectations, to creating robust tests to guarantee the tools we make stand up to the toughest environments, our engineers own every aspect of the process along the way.

You'll get to:
  • This position requires knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical design for packaging of battery packs and/or electronic assemblies.
  • Expected to create working models of new product concepts using 3D CAD software (CATIA V5) and subsequently build physical prototypes to support product development.
  • Able to create 2D drawings, stack up analysis and possess a firm understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
  • Expected to create and maintain drawings and bill of materials in product lifecycle management system (Windchill).
  • Will utilize analysis tools, develop simulations and conduct laboratory bench testing to evaluate concept designs.
  • Expected to review and approve first piece inspection data, test reports and implement engineering change orders.
  • Position supports the Outdoor electrical systems group with focus on design of electro-mechanical packaging of Li-ion battery packs.

Who You Are

An Electro-mechanical engineer with hands-on experience in Li-ion battery design and the ability to bring ideas to life. You have demonstrated that you can design and deliver in a fast-paced product development environment. You are looking for a role where you can make an immediate and lasting impact on products and end users. You're agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always .

You also have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1~5 years engineering design experience.
  • Knowledgeable of lithium-ion battery technology and battery pack designs is highly desired.
  • Familiar with the design of injection molded plastic parts, stamped metal parts, selection of contact materials, and design of heat sinks.
  • Highly proficient in 3D CAD software (CATIA V5 is a plus), 2D drawing generation & PLM software (Windchill is a plus).
  • Strong communication skills. Must be able to work with a global team including remote design and manufacturing centers.
  • Demonstrated hands-on problem-solving skills and can-do attitude.
  • Highly skilled in building and testing prototype assemblies.
  • Knowledge of high-volume electronics assembly processes and electronics encapsulation techniques is a plus.
