A Day in the Life of:
As a member of our team, you will report to the Project Manager, Dispatch. You will be an integral part of our commitment to provide the necessary coverage to monitor, track and dispatch appropriate Fire, Police, and EMS units. Your people skills will be crucial in the interactions with the State Police and Chesterfield County dispatch, FBI, and the Virginia Emergency Operation Center for support. - $18.00 per hour as a trainee, $20.50 per hour after successfully completing the dispatch training

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the radio system, keeping track of all police, fire and EMS units and annotating their locations and activity in the CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) software and/or on the Radio Logs.
- Dispatch appropriate police, fire and EMS units based on information provided by telephone, Corporate Protection supervisors, radio transmissions, alarm systems or walk-in.
- Will make appropriate notifications of any incident that occurs within five minutes of being aware of the incident. A notification list will be provided.
- Meet and greet visitors to Corporate Protection in a positive and helpful manner.
- Answer the telephone by the second ring. Radio transmission will take precedence
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent degree (GED); completion of required "Basic Telecommunicator Course" upon hire; dispatcher experience preferred.
- Require attendance and completion in all training sessions
- Ability to pass federal security requirements.
- Capability to successfully complete "Basic Telecommunicator Course".
- Must become NFPA 1061 Pro-Board Certified Telecommunicator I/II.
- Successfully complete and maintain a Virginia Criminal information Network/National Criminal Information Center (VCIN/NCIC) Level A certification.
- Must successfully complete an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) course and maintain certification
