Job description
The Hardware Design Engineer, as part of the larger product development team, provides design engineering of integrated products including electronics, software, mechanical, reliability, RF & optical design for discrete and microelectronic scale devices. Individual contributor tasks include hands-on simulation, design, and verification of advanced mixed-signal electronics for various optical & RF, analog to high-speed applications. Our Dallas Design Engineering team is the center for integrating the various advanced technologies the client builds from the larger product development, NPI & manufacturing teams.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
Ideal candidates will have a broad technical background and thrive in a fast-paced high-tech development environment. Development product outputs may range from technology proof-of-concept and evaluation prototypes to production-ready, high-volume products.
Individual responsibilities will include specification & requirements documentation, concept, and detailed design, participation in multi-disciplinary engineering design reviews, component selection, oversight of circuit board layout, prototyping with product bring-up testing, and DVT (verification). Additionally, we expect individual contributor engineers to communicate in technical client meetings, help prepare estimates of work, and critically evaluate multi-disciplinary product development efforts from cradle to design release.
Client markets include communications, photonics, quantum technologies, medical sensing, automotive, transportation, commercial, and energy sectors. Knowledge of how components, materials, and manufacturing processes affect a product’s performance is necessary. Familiarity with high-speed comms design and manufacturing is highly desirable.
