ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE:
Reports to: EHS Childcare Partnership Coordinator
Manages: None
POSITION SUMMARY
Supports and assists the EHS Childcare Coordinator and EHC Childcare Partners by providing support to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Duties are carried out in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards, regulatory agencies, and CAA policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under General Supervision:
- Build a good working relationship with community partners.
- Assist Partners in the completion of Head Start paperwork, Family Partnership agreements, and establishing monthly parent engagement activities and meetings.
- Support and provide guidance on how to maintain a physical environment conducive to promoting optimal growth and development via positive social interaction of pre-school.
- Support and assist families in obtaining health screenings, and mental/physical limitation support.
- Support and assist partners as needed to be a successful partner.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of services that promote family and community development.
- Provide advice and support parent participants.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, workshops and other career development and professional activities.
- Provide advocacy for Head Start Program, including its children and families, and promotes positive public relations throughout the community.
- Develop and document the family partnership agreements to enable family self-sufficiency
- Recruit and register children as required by Head Start Performance Standards
- Participate in transition process for children and families
- Provides support with quality service and confidentiality for the Head Start children and families
- Collect In-Kind generated from parent participation
- Support documentation and implementation of child service plan (CSP) when needed
- Maintain a level of good work attendance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two (2) years of working with families and children in an urban environment.
- Two (2) years of customer service experience.
- Experience and/or training in effective communication with infants, toddlers and pre-school age children and their parents and other staff. Ability to fluently speak English required; Spanish and/or French preferred.
- Experience and/or training in safety issues pertaining to infants, toddlers and pre-school age children.
- A valid driver’s license and insurability.
- Proficient computer experience in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including low to moderate-income families.
- Ability to multi-task and to prioritize duties. Ability to analyze and interpret data and to handle problem resolution.
- Willingness to accommodate planned and unplanned travel to and from Head Start Center and other C-HCCAA or meeting/conference locations, including overnight and/or out of town travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Includes both a typical environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse preschool classroom environmental issues, and local travel, including exposure to heat, cold, inclement weather conditions, and occasional environmental hazards.

Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;
- Walk, bend, kneel, and reach;
- Lift a 20-60 lb. child, using all safety precautions;
- Stand, sit, and play with infants and toddlers for long periods of time;
- Conduct both outdoor and indoor activities, in both warm and cold temperatures;
- Talk, hear, and communicate with parents;
- See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents.
