An Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS) job in Temecula, CA is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. The position is responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment and responsibility for promoting and driving continuous improvement of EHS systems that result in the reduction of accidents and ensure regulatory compliance. Developing and directing the implementation of safety programs and assuring management takes the actions needed to raise employee awareness regarding safety, conditions, and workload is also a large responsibility. Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator (EHS) job responsibilities include:

• Identifies safety and health hazards inherent in the organization's operations and establishes guidelines for protecting those hazards.
• Ensure compliance with our required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Participates in any federal, state, and corporate investigations and inspections. Prepares material and evidence for use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations.
• Promoting and driving continuous improvement of systems that result in the reduction of accidents and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain compliance with Federal and State, and governmental regulations by identifying and analyzing problems, finalizing suggestions and recommendations for improvements, performing audits to ensure our compliance, and oversees worker’s compensation issues.
• Facilitate training programs for all operation levels – New Hire Orientation, Forklift, First Aid/CPR, AED and Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP), Fall Protection, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Emergency Planning, and more.
• Lead investigations for incidents, accidents, and near misses and ensure solutions are created and communicated.
• Maintain documentation of the company's safety procedures, accidents, and related events.
• Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as fire and insurance personnel.

Qualifications:

• You must have a proven track record in effectively managing the EHS function in a manufacturing facility.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field
• Two plus years’ experience leading an EHS program
• Knowledge of all Federal, State, Local regulations, and industry requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills as you will work one-on-one with all levels of the organization.
• Self-Start with Root Cause Analysis skills
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Prior experience with training to small and large groups.
• Prior experience leading without Authority.
