Position Summary
The Regional Director leads and manages all channels within the defined territory working closely with their Edrington counterparts and distributor management. Deliver short-term results and build long-term brand value. Key pillars of the position include: Distributor/Broker Programming, Brand Building, Pricing Strategy, Coaching & Mentoring, and Relationship Management. Success in the position will deliver (or over-deliver) against defined annual goals and continued exceptional growth of the Edrington brands including The Macallan, Highland Park, The Famous Grouse, Brugal Rum, Wyoming Whiskey, No. 3 Gin, and Noble Oak Bourbon. The Regional Director will work closely with Vice President Division Manager, Division Marketing and Commercial Finance to achieve annual operating plan within defined territory.
Job Description
The Regional Director will spend approximately 55% of time growing the business by leading and developing a team in their region, 30% managing our distributor partners and 15% with Key accounts.
Understand the strategic direction for the assigned territory across relevant channels and segments with emphasis on Macallan Luxury brand building and Challenger Brands’ activation to support brand development.
Assist in communicating the strategic direction and Edrington priorities to distributor sales teams and portfolio management at the local level. Instil belief and create buy-in throughout distributor teams.
Work effectively with Division Marketing team, Finance and Operations to deliver against the Strategic Imperatives of the organization, delivering exceptional growth.
Competencies
Understand how to optimize allocation of Edrington and Distributor resources (including LMF if applicable) against portfolio brand standards within the assigned territory.
Drive leading global luxury and super premium brands to deliver yearly depletion and profit growth while simultaneously engaging in long term brand building activities.
Accelerate the growth of a Edrington brands with emphasis on top 3 focus brands in local market.
Cultivate new opportunities for a strong core business and optimize E-commerce programs and distribution through Edrington commercial team and distributor partners.
Deliverables
- Distributor Management: Build exceptional business relationships, drive brand focus, manage performance & delivery, and provide leading customer service.
- Brand Building: Put the consumer at the heart of the conversation, ensure local marketing plans are exceptionally executed, support all nationally lead activities at the local level, and act as an unwavering brand guardian to support brand health.
- Trade & Consumer/Activation: Develop, institute, execute and participate in brand events that align with brand strategy.
- Pricing Management: Understand the local pricing strategy and maintain an active awareness of competitive activity.
- Supply Chain & Compliance: Deliver against the allocation strategy, supporting exceptional customer service, and ensure legal compliance across the assigned territory.
Skills and Experience
- 5-10 years’ experience in a fast-growing environment
Alcohol Beverage Industry experience is highly desirable
Passion for luxury and super premium spirits (Scotch, Rum, Bourbon, Gin)
Ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team
Travel required (up to 50%) within assigned region as needed to conduct job function
