ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM:
TelevisaUnivision is seeking for an Editor to edit daily TV broadcast news story videos, special reports, series, and other projects as assigned using non-linear and linear editing systems. Candidate will also operate server-based video recording and playback systems.
YOUR DAY-DAY:
- Edit assigned news stories for daily newscasts using server-based, non-linear editing software (Avid Newscutter)
- Record daily news feeds (satellite and microwave) using server-based software (Avid Capture)
- Tune in microwave signals using Troll Microwave software
- Operate broadcast control software such as iNews and Avid Command for rundown creation and updating on-air lists
- Assist news Producers and Assignments Desk personnel with editing videos for newscast
- Other duties as assigned
YOU HAVE:
- High School diploma required
- Minimum 1-year experience as Video Editor in television news operation in a medium to major market
- Personal computer experience required including linear and non-linear editing equipment
- Must be able to multi-task and communicate effectively
- Must be self-motivated, well organized and have excellent personal interaction skills
- Must be able to work well under extreme pressure and meet tight deadlines for broadcasts as assigned
- Must be able to drive and maintain a good driving record
- A college degree in Journalism, Radio/Television or related field from accredited University preferred
- Fluency in English and Spanish preferred
- Working knowledge of Spanish required
- Must be willing to work from office in Houston, Texas
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
