THE ROLE

We are looking for an Editor who is proficient in the AMA Manual of Style, ready to get into the nitty gritty with daily copy editing and proofreading responsibilities, as well as tackling the accuracy checks and balances that come with fact checking clinical information. Deadlines, teamwork, and efficiency go hand-in-hand with this role; we work together as a team to ensure we are delivering the highest quality product to our clients.

ABOUT THE [DEPARTMENT] TEAM

You’ve probably gotten a paper cut from flipping through the AMA Manual of Style — there’s only so much time to absorb all knowledge within those super-thin pages. The Editorial team are masters of style, consistency, and grammar, with no fact left unchecked. We know that the big picture is dependent on our team identifying and flagging the small details.

• Proofread with a high rate of accuracy
• Fact check clinical information in advertising materials
• Update style guides
• Be comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment `
• Be a supportive role on a larger brand team
• Work with PM, Account, Copy, Art, and other editors to ensure that projects are done efficiently and consistently
• Attend status (as needed)
• Share editorial knowledge with the department

• 
  A mid-level MVP with 3-5+ years of advertising experience
• Strong knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 11th edition
• Strong knowledge of American English (British English is a plus)
• BA degree (Communications, English, or related field preferred)or Life Sciences with a strong interest in copy editing
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail (your favorite books used to be Magic Eye puzzles)
• A willingness to learn and push outside of your comfort zone
• Strong time management and organizational skills
