Early Psychosis Programs Outreach Coordinator

General Function:

Responsible for conducting community outreach, engagement and education regarding early psychosis and clinical high risk for psychosis in accordance with OnTrack Tennessee and Clinical High Risk for Psychosis (CHRP) grant requirements.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social services or related field – requirement
  • 2+ Years’ experience in Community Engagement & Human Services - requirement
  • Vehicle – requirement
  • Reliable transportation
  • Liability Insurance
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must be willing to obtain CPR certification
  • Excellent skills: public speaking, organizational, communication and writing
  • Skilled in networking among agencies and individuals
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and build rapport with youth/young adults and community members
  • Committed to the project principles
  • Prior experience utilizing graphic design and/or social media tools for development and dissemination of outreach materials or ability to learn these tools quickly
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all clients, AHS employees and community you interact with as an AHS employee

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop a culturally and linguistically competent outreach and education plan, including primary and secondary outreach strategies
  • Develop and disseminate educational information through presentations to local community groups, at-risk youth and their families, law enforcement personnel, court officials, advocacy groups and others that serve or represent at-risk youth in the community
  • Coordinate and present information about behavioral health services for transition aged youth with mental illness and co-occurring disorders, including warning signs for clinical high risk for psychosis and first episode psychosis
  • Establish screening and referral networks
  • Provide screenings for youth/young adults at established locations
  • Maintain documentation, records and reports as established by the agency, SAMHSA, CHRP, OnTrack, etc.
  • Other duties may be assigned by supervisor(s) to meet the needs of the consumer and AHS.

Shift Availability:

  • (1) Full-Time: M/Tu/Th: 8:00am–4:30pm; W: 8:00am-5:30pm; F 8:00am-3:30pm

Additional Requirements:

  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as required per AHS policy
