Acting as the leader and facilitator of the center, the Director is selected for this position because of the special qualities, talents, and skills he or she can offer. The goal is to achieve harmony and mutuality throughout the center, with respect, tolerance, patience, honesty, trust, and friendship. This position requires that the Director be ultimately responsible for the overall operation and charged with the responsibility of seeing that the reputation of the center remains above reproach.

Qualifications:

· Be at least twenty-one (21) years old or older

· Hold an ECE state certificate or equivalent

· Have two (2) years of experience teaching children enrolled into an early learning program

· Complete the applicable preservice requirements, pursuant to WAC 110-300-0105; renew an update annually as required

· Participate in yearly continued professional development and maintain documentation

· Register with MERIT

· Must understand and be familiar with the Washington Administrative Code (WAC)

· Must have strong communication skill, both written and verbal

· Ability to lift in excess of twenty (20) lbs.

· Ability to pass state and federal background check

· Valid Driver’s License

· Dress professionally following the guidelines of the management dress code

· Must have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve effectively and appropriately

Job Duties include but not limited to:

(Operations)

· Ensure the center is opened and closed as scheduled

· Be available to your center as necessary, be prepared to open and close your facility

· Responsible for the overall operations of the center

· Ensure smooth operations and adhere to all licensing WAC & RCW

· Monthly Fire Drills & Quarterly Emergency drills; document

· Monitor staff & quality checks, making hourly rounds

· Staff Orientation

· Staff Training

· Record and issue staff discipline

· Staff Terminations

· Ensure staff receive breaks as scheduled

· Know all policies for enrolling, attendance, tuition contracts, DCYF enrollment and general policies as they pertain to enrollment

· Familiarize new parents with the policies and procedures of Spring Glen

· Manage a waiting list appropriately to keep the center full

· Utilize tour sheets to create a call back system

· Give professional and informative parent tours

· Answer the phone professionally and attentively

· Responsible for the implementation of the USDA food program and the proper collection of documentation

· Work with the Assistant Director in arranging staff schedules for proper placement according to enrollment, knowledge, and experience.

· Be responsible for payroll costs and monitor to ensure over time is not accrued

· Develop a schedule for evaluations, and complete them in a timely manner; include three (3) month and (6) month follow up evaluations when warranted

· Manage COSTCO grocery lists, pantry inventory to avoid wastefulness and pilfering

· Manage the janitorial team and ensure compliance to contract

· Provide new bus drivers with a pre-drive and tour of our bus

· Monitor and over-see the educational program

· Keep classroom inventory to catch wastefulness and irresponsibility

· Monitor the “What I Did Today” Reports”

(Compliance)

· Educate yourself and understand the WAC and the necessary procedures to remain in compliance

· Be available to your center as necessary, be prepared to open and close your facility

· Be prepared to cover staff shortages, coming in early or staying late as necessary

· May serve as childcare staff when necessary, classroom instruction

· Ensure the center operates in accordance to Health and Safety Regulations

· Attend and participate actively in management meetings

· Have a current Washington State Driver’s License and the ability to be placed on the substitute bus driver list

· Maintain the bus & ensure licensing/tabs are current

· Monitor bus drivers and their qualifications

(Administrative)

· Interview potential staff members

· Complete reference checks & educational transcripts

· Collect and review all meal counts

· Prepare offer letters, welcome emails, and packets for new hires

· Review timecards with staff and make them available to payroll in a timely manner

· Keep a log of accident reports and file appropriately

· Maintain and monitor staff files and records, ensuring compliance in all areas

· Maintain MERIT for all employees, ensuring that all staff are current and in compliance according to company guidelines & Washington Administrative Code

· Effectively manage all fiscal aspects of the center, tuition, invoices, payments, tax information, account aging, adjustments, late fees, and collections

· Daily monitoring of subsidy attendance and CCA entries

· End of the month data; CCA, terminations and new starts

· Attendance sheets

· Classroom Forms & Van Logs

· Management of enrollment totals

· Management of children covered by DCYF/numbers

· Management of private contracts/numbers

· Weekly & Monthly totals/numbers

· Keep child files current and in compliance with licensing requirements

· Collect & review DCYF approvals and terminations promptly

· Keep families informed of subsidy status

· Provide proper information and documentation to the Area Manager for subsidy audits

· Prepare for, and ensure a successful study month by collecting all EIA forms in a thorough and timely manner

· Maintain a neat and efficient filing system, follow policies for records archive

· Provide newsletter and reader board information to the operations manager by the 20th of each month

· Have a current Washington State Driver’s License and the ability to be placed on the substitute bus driver list

· Monitor bus drivers and their qualifications

(General)

· Complete and submit lists for maintenance to keep your center in good repair

· Participate actively in marketing and community outreach

· Order Paper products and hygiene supplies and work closely with FIKES to keep dispensers properly stocked

· Work professionally with outside vendors, creating positive relations

· Work professionally with all third party contracted care referrals, following the policies set for customer care

· Maintain professional and productive relationships with Licensors

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $28,980.00 - $117,198.16 per year
