State Fair Community College is an accessible, learning-centered institution, enriching its students and community by providing skills, knowledge and perspectives essential for a changing world.
Overview: High School Dual Credit Instructor located within our 14-county service area. Instructor will be responsible for teaching high school students college-level curriculum that is in alignment with our institutional curriculum standards.
Essential Duties:
- Course instruction dependent upon specific discipline being taught
- Utilize technology (including Canvas, mySFCC, and SFCC email)
- Follow SFCC discipline-specific curriculum
- Maintain regular communication with SFCC Dual Credit Liaison
- Submit attendance and final grades by institutional deadlines
The preceding duties have been provided as examples of the essential types of work performed by positions within this job classification. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate of Arts instructors: Master's degree in the field with at least 18 graduate hours in the specific discipline and demonstrated record of teaching excellence preferred. Associate of Applied Science instructors: Bachelor's degree (associate degree and/or industry certification applicants considered) and three years related industry experience and demonstrated record of teaching excellence preferred.
Skills: Desired applicants should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, a passion for education, and a concern for rigorous academic standards. Instructors should be able to effectively interact with a broad range of people, including high school level students, and SFCC faculty and staff. Applicants should possess a working knowledge of technology and computer use. Applicants should demonstrate a willingness to commit to the standards, philosophy, and mission set by the college.
