Job Summary: A person in this position is required to work in conjunction with other staff in the over all care of adult persons with developmental disabilities. This means assisting each person based on their ability level with all aspects of living skills. Some shifts will be scheduled; some will be filling in for other staff on an on-call basis. A person in this position is required to work in conjunction with other staff in the overall care of adult persons who are Developmentally Disabled. This person will also work closely with the Direct Support Supervisor in recommending changes in program plans
Qualifications: Ability to work with people, valid drivers’ licenses.
Major Duties & Responsibilities: The person is responsible for but not limited to the following:
1. Implementing resident individual programs and health plans.
2. Assisting residents in their personal hygiene, social, living skills and responsibilities.
3. Taking residents to community social events.
4. Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
5. Attend training sessions as scheduled.
6. Relate pertinent information on participants to the Direct Support Supervisor (DSS) and Executive Director.
7. Work closely with the Direct Support Supervisor to recommend and develop change in program plans.
8. Attend workshops at discretion of Executive Director.
Job Conditions:
A. Hours of work are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 3:00 p.m.-11pm Wednesday start time is 2pm-11p. The length of these shifts can vary from 9p-11p depending on the need. On weekends we staff 3 staff on from 9:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. These hours can vary from 9a-3p, 3p-9p or a 9a-9p. We are staffed, on a rotating basis, on all Holidays staff are paid at time and half time and/or double time depending on the Holiday. All these shifts are scheduled differently for staff each day/week/month.
B. There is a 90-day probationary period. Employees are not eligible for PTO until successful completion of the probationary period.
C. Will be filling in when other staff are sick or using PTO.
D. Must complete all necessary paperwork before eligible benefits will begin.
E. Accrued PTO monthly
F. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
G. Must pass a criminal background check by the State of Minnesota.
Qualifications: Must have a valid Driver’s License and the ability to work with people.
