SUMMARY: it is the primary responsibility of the Starting Gate Server to provide beverage and food service. Must convey an upbeat and positive attitude, with the ability to engage the guest. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures. ESSENTiAL DUTiES & RESPONSiBiLiTiES: - Acknowledge the guest with a friendly greeting in a timely manner. - Obtains beverage and/or food orders. initiates conversation with guests. - Expedites food and drink orders for each party quickly and accurately. Serves refills and follows up for additional food and beverage requirements. - Keeps tables neat and orderly by bussing as you go. - Adheres to all responsible alcohol serving requirements as dictated by the state and Zia Park policies. - Requests identification from guests ordering alcohol. - Anticipates guest needs when possible. - Communicates with supervisor regarding guest requests. - Completes end of shift checkout and paperwork according to preset standards. - Complete assigned opening and closing side work. - Provides Marquee Service to every patron and employee. - Perform duties in a safe manner; reports any potential safety hazards to management. - May be required to answer questions when a supervisor is not available. - Must work well under pressure, and meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. - Adhere to all corporate and local policies, procedures, and operating guidelines. - Must at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and leadership. - Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.
