The base hourly rate for this position is $27.32

Essential job functions:

• Gatekeeper of the Drawing Office which includes the organization, proper storage, and placement of the plant building, systems, equipment, and control documentation (primarily drawings).
• Maintenance and upkeeping of the print copier.
• Assist plant personnel with research and copies of plant drawings and documentation of plant equipment and facilities as requested.
• Project deliverables storage and distribution of project documentation consistent with the organizational strategy of the office and plant support roles.
• Development of layouts, general arrangements, or other drawings as needed for project estimates.
• Perform field investigations for the verification of equipment components, equipment layout, and interferences.
• Update of existing drawings based on submitted redlines or field investigations as directed.
• Utilizing Johns Manville drawing standards and under the direction of the plant engineering staff, develop new mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control drawings to support plant modifications or projects. Provide regular feedback on continuous improvement opportunities for document maintenance and organization.
• Archive of obsolete drawings such that organization is maintained for future reference of such drawings, including digital scans and/or conversion of hard copy drawings for electronic record.
• Provide organized photographic documentation during the construction phase of major capital projects when requested.
• Ability to convert design drawings to machining programs and working with machinist to produce accurate programs for new parts. Execute small engineering projects under the direction of the Sr engineers and manager. This may include evaluation of alternatives, determination of project scope, drawings, generating bid documents and working with contractors to

Prerequisites:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Understanding of general mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles for plant production processes.
• Ability to read and understand concepts of electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to measure close tolerances, using drafting, engineering, and machine measurement tools.
• Working knowledge of file structure, naming conventions, and use of Windows Explorer.
• Proficient in AutoCad 2010, or newer.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

Preferred additional prerequisites:

• Two-year technical degree.
• Experience with Solidworks 2009, or newer.
• Experience with Computer Aided Machining software.
• Experience executing small engineering projects a plus.
