Eaton’s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Document Control Lead. This position will be located at our Torrance, CA facility.
This role is responsible for performing the full range of Configuration and Data Management functions as defined by system program requirements reporting to the Test Lab Engineering Manager.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $88837.47 - $130294.96 a year.

What you’ll do:
- Work with external and internal customers establishing processes necessary to ensure that data moves between customers and suppliers with the highest level of integrity ensure accuracy while minimizing cycle time.
- Develop, maintain and enforce Configuration Management and Data Management (CM/DM) plans, policies, directives and procedures ensuring product configuration integrity are met for engineering documents and product hardware through all product lifecycle phases.
- Work closely with customer configuration control management teams ensuring Eaton policies and procedures satisfy program configuration requirements. Accountable for successful customer configuration audits.
- Manage change requests with customers ensuring product configuration is maintained and appropriate change classifications are applied when changes are incorporated into products.
- Organize change boards for internal change request approval prior to submission to customer.
- Track status of pending change requests and initiates change order when approval received from the customer.
- Coordinate CM issues with customer CM personnel as required.
- Lead Eaton’s configuration audit team ensuring suppliers have defined procedures for product change control and evidence that procedures are followed.
- Oversee the configuration and Document Control area ensuring resource needs are balanced with respect to program workloads.
- Support program bids with estimated hours needed to support configuration control requirements.
- Participate in the preparation and selection of engineering software tools ensuring CM/DM requirements are achieved across all aerospace sites.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in engineering or configuration management.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Torrance, CA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical degree from an accredited institution.
- Previous experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience with product database management (PDM) software, product lifecycle management (PLM) software (preferably Enovia and SAP), and/or software configuration management applications.
Skills:
- The position will require detailed understanding of Data Management policies including data requirements identification, submittal, control, archiving and contract closure for each customer and suppliers, Document Control, Data Rights, and Export Control. Experience demonstrating application of this level of CM/DM understanding will be required including effective direct dealings with program management and internal and external customers, working familiarity with the engineering development programs, manufacturing and support processes covering military and commercial aerospace programs.
- Demonstrated and mature systems integration, planning and execution abilities are a must.
- Should be considered an expert and an authority in the CM and DM disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication, and fluency working in MS Office applications.
