Salary Range: $25-27/hour

Position Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 PM – 3:00 AM, unless having to cover a night route due to call out.

Job Overview:

The Dock Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and coordinating cargo to and from specified locations. The supervisor oversees the loading and unloading of company vehicles and may be required to operate a forklift and perform other warehouse and driver functions to include pallet wrapping, loading, and unloading trucks, vehicle inspections, driver training and route coverage when necessary. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. The supervisor should have a thorough knowledge of the team processes to suggest improvements to process, able to be a knowledge resource for other team members.

Essential Functions:

· Supervises warehouse drivers in the delivery, pickup and transfer of customer freight.

· Provides guidance, support, and direction to other employees in the performance of all duties but will not have authority for staff actions.

· Distributes work assignments and coordinating resources while collaborating with management to maintain operational efficiency.

· Successfully motivates CalArk drivers and employees; a working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team.

· Ensure professional operation of equipment (forklift, pallet jack, stretch wrap machine, etc.) in support of warehouse tasks.

· Schedules drivers and assigns routes to maximize productivity.

· Monitors all associates to ensure that they have all the tools necessary to complete their given tasks.

· Acts as a liaison between drivers, dispatch, Road Assist and the Operations Manager.

· Ensures all Customer requirements are fulfilled. Communicates directly with customer to resolve service issues.

· Communicates to management on all product & equipment damage.

· Leads employee meetings as necessary to review the operational objectives and to ensure all employees understand assigned goals and performance targets required of them.

· Inspects company trucks and related equipment, per safety & maintenance instructions; coordinates with management to resolve all issues.

· Works directly with Road Assist to communicate truck and trailer maintenance repairs.

· Trains drivers on assigned routes and delivery operations with emphasis on safety measures.

· Maintain and protect all property entrusted to the Supervisor in excellent condition.

· Maintains time and attendance records of personnel in their charge.

· Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

· Must be able quickly learn and comprehend new software that may be used daily.

Qualifications

· Class A CDL required.

· Must have Hazmat endorsement or be willing to obtain.

· High School diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred.

· 1+ years of experience operating forklift/warehouse material handling equipment.

· 2 years prior experience as a warehouse/dock lead preferred.

· Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.

· Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
