The Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator will work closely with the Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee to help implement Mercer County Community College’s various diversity and inclusion initiatives. This role will be responsible for assisting with the execution of relevant programming, training, and other firm strategies to continue fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace and learning environment for all

Job Responsibilities:

• Supports diversity and inclusion initiatives, as set by the Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (e.g., the institution’s equity initiatives, heritage month celebrations, Mansfield Rule participation, diversity speaker series, bi-annual diversity retreat, etc.), and works with the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee with executing relevant strategies, which benefit both faculty, staff and students. • Coordinates the scheduling of community meetings, meetings with student groups and Diversity Committee meetings, affinity group meetings and relevant diversity and inclusion events or programming. • Tracks expenses charged to the Diversity Council budget, and provides monthly budget reports to the Senior Director, Diversity & Professional Development. • Updates and maintains various sections of the diversity & inclusion intranet and website pages (including the events calendar, the language on programs and partnerships, photo galleries, etc.). • Assists the Diversity & Inclusion student workers with the communication of the offices diversity and inclusion commitment and activities, through the office’s annual diversity report and other publications • In support of the Diversity & Inclusion Specialist, compiles and organizes data in response to industry surveys regarding diversity and inclusion, professional development, and recruiting, and in compliance with Mercer County Community College’s professional development plan.

  • Assists with other diversity and inclusion needs as necessary.

Required Qualifications

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Master’s degree preferred but not required.

Experience The position requires a minimum of two (2) years of related experience in an educational setting, during which the knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.
