We are looking for a Dispatch/customer-oriented service representative; Transportation Specialist. A Dispatch/customer service representative, or Transportation Specialist will act as a liaison for Arenac residents with drivers, provide transportation service information, schedule rides, and resolve any emerging problems that our public customers might face with accuracy and efficiency. The best Transportation Specialists are genuinely excited to help callers, they’re patient, empathetic, and passionately communicative. The appropriate candidate will pocess excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills. These skills will be utilized to determine callers’ needs and schedule accordingly. Our Transportation Specialists put themselves in their customers’ shoes and advocate for them when necessary. Gathering customer feedback is priceless, and problem-solving comes naturally to our team. Our Dispatchers are just one part of the team to provide for Arenac County's transportation needs. The chosen Dispatcher will work closely with drivers, Operatons Manager, and Director to provide quality professional and safe services to residents in a timely manner. They are confident at troubleshooting and comfortable assessing vehicle routes and time frames. All staff is required to pass pre-employment background checks, drug and alcohol screening, along with random drug and alcohol screens throughout employment.

Responsibilities:

• · Manage large amounts of incoming calls
• · Gather detailed transportation request information with positivity.
• · Build sustainable relationships with community through friendly interactive communication and actively listening.
• · Communicate clearly details regarding scheduled rides, fees, and times.
• · Accurate record keeping of customer feedback, positive and negative.
• · Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies with customers and colleagues.
• · Create a positive office environment with general public, community partners, and colleagues.

Skills:

• · Computer competency
• Must be knowledgable of Arenac County logistics; towns, villages, cities, road infastructure
• Must be familiar with travel challenges related to a rural county.
• Familiarity with Excel; creating and updating spreadsheets.
• · Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening.
• · Ability to access multiple factors and determine an appropriate solution.
• · Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• · Strong decision making confidence.
• Compassionate understanding of varing staff roles and responsibilities.
• · Familiarity with multiline phone system
• · Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• · Practices excellent time management and work ethics.
• · High school degree

Specifics:

• Full Time, 11 - 7 p.m. Most days some flexibility for special events.
• No holidays, or Sundays. Rotating Saturdays (9-5)
