About the Organization

Carillon Historical Park celebrates how Dayton, OH changed the world. The Gem City is home to the airplane, the automobile self-starter, the cash register, the first internationally acclaimed African American poet, the National Football League's inaugural game, and so much more. By the turn of the 20th century, Dayton had more patents, per capita, than any U.S. city, and one-sixth of the nation's corporate executives had spent a portion of their career at legendary Dayton company National Cash Register (NCR).

Description

Carillon Brewing Co. is a unique craft brewery, owned and operated by Dayton History, that specializes in historic beer production and features traditional German American fare. The core of Dayton History's mission is to educate and preserve. As a part of Dayton History, Carillon Brewing Co.'s primary goal is to both immerse our guests in a welcoming, entertaining, historic, and educational experience.

Basic Function:

This position exists to keep the kitchen running smoothly by cleaning and sanitizing dishes so that Cooks, Food Runner / Bussers, and Bartenders have the supplies they need to prepare food and beverages and serve it to guests.

General Responsibilities:

• Unload cutlery and dishes brought to the kitchen by Food Runner / Bussers while loading and organizing them into trays for the washer.
• Hand wash large pots and pans that are unable to be washed in the commercial dishwasher.
• Assist with taking garbage and trash to dumpster area.
• Assist with washing work areas, refrigerators, cooking equipment, walls and floors in order to meet or exceed food safety standards.
• Assemble, maintain, and break down the dish machine when needed (training will be provided).
• Assist with prep work when needed.
• Additional duties as assigned by management

Line of Communication and Accountability:

This position reports to the Kitchen Supervisor.

• Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
