Our Dishwasher’s primary responsibility is to work with the Chef/Sous Chef in maintaining a clean environment. To ensure that the guest’s expectations are consistently exceeded. The Dishwasher follows and ensures compliance with food safety handling policies and maintains an organized and hygienic work area, including personal hygiene procedures. The ideal Dishwasher candidate must be able to become thoroughly familiar with and able to comply with Lawry’s appearance standards, safety procedures and the overall operation of our kitchen.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Maintains proper food handling and sanitation standards.
• Demonstrates safe work habits, particularly in relation to knife handling.
• Wipe up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain clean and dry.
• Maintains a safe workplace by keeping work areas clean and free of debris and hazards.
• Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine
• Prepare machine for use and dishes that are to be run through machine.
• Operate machine.
• Restock dishes and glassware in appropriate locations.
• Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering.
• Clean up work area at the end of each shift.
• Put away food/kitchen related purchases.
• Maintain kitchen floors, spills, etc. during shifts.
• Perform extra, periodical cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Maintain cleanliness of outside trash area and loading dock.
• May polish silver and burnish silverware.
• Fill/empty soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions.
• Sweep/mop floors.
• General restaurant and restroom cleaning as directed.
• May perform minor maintenance in kitchen area and throughout restaurant.
• Operate an industrial dishwasher, washing dishes and glassware by hand when necessary
• Unload dishes, silverware, and glassware promptly and store them in the appropriate places
• Carry out basic cleaning tasks around the premises, including emptying trash cans, cleaning drink machines, and cleaning any spills and broken glass immediately
• Report any serious incidents to upper management, such as machine failure or broken facilities
• Other duties as requested

Qualifications and Skills: At least one (1) year of previous experience as a Dishwasher in a high-end dinning establishment is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Current Local/State Food Handler’s Training Certifications as required

Computer Skills: Basic familiarity with computers and calculators.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Some college or culinary education beneficial.
