The Director of Training will be responsible for managing the strategic and operational elements of the training function. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of training and ensuring a high level of performance delivered to our employees. He/she will network with staff across the organization who develop or conduct training and external vendors to improve the overall quality of the training function.

  • In coordination with the Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy, Vice President of Rehabilitation Services, Vice President of Human Resources, and the Vice President of Information Systems & Technology, directs the design, planning, and implementation of corporate training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of the organization.
  • Keeps the Training Governance Committee abreast of needs and changes regarding all training efforts; presents recommendations for training and related materials.
  • Develops a program delivery schedule that provides training as needed and in locations that meet the organization's needs.
  • Conducts Didlake developed training such as Introduction to Didlake, Disability Awareness, and Supervisor and Manager series.
  • Supervises and develops training department staff.
  • Develops and revises approved computer-based and in-person training in coordination with the Vice President of Advocacy and Public Policy, Vice President of Rehabilitation Services, and the Vice President of Human Resources.
  • Identifies training needs by working with the department managers/supervisors and communicates to the department managers/supervisors employee compliance with a training plan consistently.
  • Assists in the formulation of training policies, programs, and curricula based on Didlake's approved strategic plans and goals, SOP's and licensure requirements.
  • Reviews, approve and monitors the validity of credentials of internal and external trainers.
  • Periodically audits training courses to ensure trainers are training in accordance with approved curricula and using appropriate instructional methods.
  • Routinely reviews curricula to ensure content, training materials, and delivery are current and appropriate; makes recommendations to Executive staff for changes and improvements.
  • Tracks employee surveys of training and monitors adapt training and instructional methods and feedback reports.
  • Identifies and reviews appropriate training solutions and methods such as in-house, external, workshops, seminars, video presentations, or web-based instruction.
  • Identify, review, organize, and develop training manuals, reference libraries, multimedia aids, and other educational materials.
  • Maintains records and prepares statistical reports to evaluate training effectiveness and employee progress.
  • Establishes a calendar of training to assure compliance with requirements, and maintains and distributes all training calendars.
  • Maintains professional, appropriate conduct, and decorum at all times.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

Requirements:

Education:

  • BS/BA plus 3 years of relevant training/development experience or AA degree plus 5 years of relevant training/development experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of office practices and procedures and the use of office machines, computers, and programs, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to develop, present and conduct training programs and curricula; excellent written and verbal communications skills, excellent computer skills
  • Thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures; knowledge of employment laws, federal laws, Ability One, SCA requirements, and human resources helpful;
  • Ability to project a positive and professional image to the public, coworkers, and Didlake clients.
  • Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security badge clearance for various federal contract sites. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
