Prospect Schools is seeking an organized, flexible, and mission-driven Director of Student Supports to
join us in support of our growing network of schools. The ideal candidate is fully dedicated to the mission of Prospect Schools and to supporting the success of our students and families. This person will report directly to the Principal and be responsible for leading our socio-emotional and academic Multi-Tiered Support System (MTSS) through management and coaching of our School Culture and Student Support teams. The core of this leader’s role is to partner with educators and families to ensure that all students have access to the learning supports they need in order to thrive.
School Leadership
- Serve as a core member of the school leadership team by participating in weekly School Management Team meetings and assist the Principal in making critical decisions.
- Develop and implement, alongside the Principal, a strong vision for student supports.
- Track priority academic and culture data (e.g. formative and summative assessment data, homework completion rates, attendance patterns, etc.) and support the development of tier 2 and tier 3 student supports.
- Cultivate a sense of shared ownership for upholding values of an inclusive community through active modeling of school-wide culture practices
- Work closely with teachers and any other staff (ie; social workers, etc.) to develop proactive efforts towards character development and positive school culture
- Lead and support professional development for staff aligned to student support (ie; the referral process, academic/behavior RTI/MTSS and Special education compliance.)
- Provide consistent feedback to staff and students goals aligned to supporting tier 2 and tier 3 students.
Special Services
- Responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of all mandated services- both academic and social
- Analyze academic data to lead a proactive RTI process to train teachers on its implementation
- Directly manage the school’s Social Workers and Counselors in meeting school and organization goals in special education
- Lead the counselors and Learning Specialists to ensure that students’ counseling needs and differentiated supports are implemented with fidelity
- Maintain a thorough and accurate system of the various required mandates and compliance related to special education and SEL needs the school is required to meet
- Design and deliver professional development sessions on the various socio-emotional learning and special education skills and processes required by the staff at large
- Observe lessons regularly and deliver targeted feedback to teachers, including feedback on lesson planning methods
- Assist teachers in developing, implementing and monitor high-impact support plans for students
- Model outstanding instruction and community building strategies for teachers
Student Culture
- Support the development of proactive school wide initiatives that support student success
- Contribute to school wide team notes by providing specific updates (ie; social emotional resources, compliance related updates, etc.)
- Contribute to the development of family notes with updates specific to student supports (family resources, intervention resources, etc.)
- Plan and participate in all school wide events and community building activities as a representative for the school
- Partner with other Directors to respond to tier 2 and tier 3 incidents which includes responding to behavior incidents, completing any documentation, conducting parent follow up and deploy preventative student and teacher supports (ie; social skills lessons, proactive counseling, mediation, etc.
- Facilitate tier 3 disciplinary response and follow up.
- Model building strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families and support teachers to do the same
- Analyze school wide and content specific culture data and make plans to address growth areas in the data.
- Conduct classroom management professional development for all teachers and struggling content teachers/teachers under purview.
- Participate in, observe and as necessary give feedback on the execution of all schoolwide systems.
- Model how to build strong, mutually respectful relationships with students and families and support teachers to do the same
- Observe and give feedback on schoolwide systems and classroom culture
- Serve as campus DASA representative.

- Bachelors Degree
- At least 3-5 years of teaching experience in a diverse by design environment preferred
- Experience in teaching and managing supports for students with IEPs and other special needs
- Prior experience directly managing, observing, and coaching teachers
- Exceptionally strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail
- Adept at collaborating and building community with others

Salary:
Employees at Prospect Schools are provided with a competitive salary. Our salaries are set through a
lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role.
The salary range for this role is from $105,000-$130,000.
