PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directly responsible for fulfilling expectations set for partnership between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside and contracted Unified School District After-School Program.

Responsible for overseeing operations for multiple sites and their delivery of high quality programming with a primary focus on recruitment, hiring, retention, day-to-day staffing at each site, supervision and training and development of staff. Plans, develops, and oversees the implementation and administration of programs; supervises program staff and training of program leaders; and performs community relations related to programmatic duties. Maintains positive relationship with School District Leadership at all levels. Ensures safety and compliance with all health and safety regulations adopted by local health authorities, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and the School District.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the delivery of high quality programming that meets the contractual expectations of the school district.
  • Ensures compliance with all health and safety regulations adopted by local health authority and the District.
  • Manage assigned staff, ensuring proper staffing at each school each day and the delivery of productive and effective performance. Regularly observes program delivery and provides ongoing feedback and regular appraisals; identify and support professional development opportunities.
  • Meet staffing goals to support 16 after-school programs at a combination of elementary, middle, and high school sites.
  • Coordinate hiring, onboarding, and site training of new staff members.
  • Ensure staff are meeting essential job duties and creating safe experiences for youth.
  • Leads a team of Quality Assurance Coaches, Site Leads, and over 180 Youth Development Professionals.
  • Maintain professional and clear communication with contracted Unified School District contacts on daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Plan and implement several staff trainings through the year.
  • Maintain accurate records and data-tracking methods.
  • Coordinate daily staffing for all after-school programs at school sites, including sub placements with Quality Assurance Coaches.
  • Responsible for youth program curriculum implementation into school site after-school programs, in partnership with the Unified School District Expanded Learnings Department.
  • Proactively seek ways to improve program delivery and implementation, including inclusion of Boys & Girls Clubs programming within after-school program.
  • Responsible for tracking Key Performance Indicators for after-school program staffing and making strategic organizational decisions based on metrics gathered.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Club’s annual budget, ensuring that all areas of responsibility are operated within established budgetary guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be a leader and role model in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside team and in the community we serve.
  • Participate in collaborative initiatives with the BGCGRR leadership team to meet organization wide-goals.
  • May be assigned special projects periodically by the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Strategic Initiatives.
  • May oversee special programs and/or events and/or participate in the implementation of other Club-wide activities as necessary.
  • May be required to drive Club van periodically.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Program Services Coordinators, Lead Youth Development Specialists, Youth Development Specialists, leadership team at BGCRR.

External: Expanded Learnings Program Staff, District Staff, School District Site Staff (Principals, Nutrition Services Staff, Office Staff, etc.), other key Unified School District staff, other key community partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required – High School Diploma or GED
  • Required – Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university (or commensurate experience in field)
  • Required – Ability to pass Background Checks, Drug Screen, and Employment Physical
  • Required – Valid State Driver’s License or California ID Card
  • Required – Reliable transportation
  • Required – First Aid/CPR Certification (we will train)
  • Preferred – Clean DMV record and able to drive a BGC van
  • Preferred – At least three years working in youth development field
  • Preferred – At least two years managing multi-departmental and/or multi-location teams

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate has knowledge/prior experience in the following areas:

  • Managing teams
  • Managing staffing processes (such as onboarding, training, coaching, termination, etc.)
  • Working effectively and collaboratively inside and outside of organizations

The ideal candidate has familiarity with the following platforms and/or the ability to quickly learn:

  • Microsoft Suite (including Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)
  • Job posting sites (such as Indeed, LinkedIn, Facebook, Handshake, etc.)
  • Google Drive (including docs, sheets, forms, etc.)
  • Zoom/Teams
  • BambooHR
  • Virtual Engagement Platforms (such as Mentimeter or similar)

This position will have a variety of working conditions, including:

  • Office/Administrative Work (approx. 50%)
  • Site visits, job fairs, recruitment efforts, etc. (approx. 50%)

Hours will be primarily Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work required and most site visits occurring during the delivery of the after-school program.

At times, may be responsible for lifting up to 20 pounds in preparing materials for various tasks.

Candidate will need to have reliable transportation throughout the Redlands, Riverside, and San Bernardino areas.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
