Essential Functions:
We are looking for an experienced Director of Product Design who will shape the design function at Wiser. You will lead a team of experienced Product Designers shaping the customer experience for Wiser’s product portfolio. You will work closely with other Product, Engineering, and Go-to-Market leaders to jointly establish best practices and strategies to deliver business outcomes.
You will champion product discovery, user research, customer Jobs to be Done, UI/UX strategy, prototyping, and visual design processes. You will drive key processes through the design team via periodic design reviews ensuring a holistic, consistent experience across our products.
What you will do:

Build and manage a talented team of product designers that consistently deliver roadmap outcomes and products that our customers love

• Collaboratively drive design vision across the company to build alignment on priorities leading to product design and execution.

• Shape product strategy with other product leaders to influence, both short term and long-term roadmaps

• Own and drive product discovery process with the Design, Product Management and Engineering teams

• Drive efficient customer-first discovery efforts via regular design reviews, design sprints and establishing best practices of customer research

• Oversee multiple products ensuring discovery/design best practices are followed.

• Develop design talent and build a culture where designers grow in their careers and feel a strong sense of product ownership

• Foster a strong, collaborative design practice within Wiser and drive up the organizational maturity of the function

What you have:

• 10+ years of experience in UI/UX Design, Interaction Design, or equivalent experience

• BS/MS in Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or related field required

• Strong portfolio demonstrating work in user experience, interaction design, and visual design required

• People management, team development, and hiring experience is a must

• Experience establishing and growing design practice within mid-size or large companies

• Experience owning and building multiple products through the entire lifecycle

• Experience establishing end-to-end design processes including product discovery, design sprints, user story mapping, solution prototyping and conducting user validation sessions

• Experience with approaches including design thinking, rapid prototyping, product led growth, and jobs-to-be-done

• Experience working in direct collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and other stakeholders

• Experience designing Enterprise B2B SaaS or B2C products is preferred

• Enthusiastic collaborator and open to feedback

• Excellent communication and writing skills
