Director of Internal Medicine in Adult Medicine Division
Job description
The Cornell Scott Hill Health Center (CSHHC) is looking for a dynamic physician leader to serve as its next Director of Internal Medicine. This person will lead the organization’s large and diverse group of adult primary care physicians and advanced practice providers who perform over 90,000 medical visits annually at 8 care sites across the Greater New Haven area. He or she will spearhead recruitment and onboarding of mission-minded primary care practitioners and provide ongoing clinical oversight for all Adult Medicine services. The Director will develop clinical workflows and care models that enhance quality and operational efficiency and will partner with departmental nursing leadership to optimize the roles of clinical support staff in care delivery. Additionally, the Director of Adult Medicine will work closely with the medical leadership of Yale’s two Internal Medicine residency programs at CSHHC’s large training site, where over 100 residents learn primary care under the direction of Yale faculty.

Qualifications
Education: Medical Degree from an accredited school along with: board certification in a primary care discipline (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Medicine/Pediatrics), valid unrestricted state license, valid unrestricted DEA certification, familiarity with managed care protocols, PCMH requirements, and electronic medical record.
Experience: Ambulatory care experience, supervisory experience and administrative experience is required. As this position integrates all facets of the health organization, demonstration of the ability to collaborate with all disciplines is essential. Candidate will demonstrate ability to gain necessary knowledge regarding Joint Commission, federal, state, and city guidelines.
